The bottom line: You'll love this game system even if you haven't owned one since the Atari 2600. The picture quality is GREAT and it does so much more than play games!
This is so much more than a video game. If you think the price tag is high for a handheld than you haven't looked at one in person. When I saw the clarity of my Nephews PSP screen I almost fainted. Better picture than any of my high dollar portable dvd players, or even my lap top.
And He's never bored I put MP3 songs on it for him, and bought him some umd movies. It's Great. The games are multi-leveled and plays for a long time before looking for new games. I want one for myself now that I know I can sink my computers media center content right onto the unit, my photos, videos, even recorded TV.
The memory card slot makes the memory expandable to hold lots and lots and lots of content.
Sony changed my mind about video games with this one.

They offer a lot of different games for various age groups. I think the games are kind of costly when they are fisrt released, but price tags drop with time.

Most of the movie rental places also rent games and umd movies for the PSP. In my area we have stores that buy, see, and trade, used games, I like these places, I can go in and give my nephew a prices range and he has large selection.

Suggestion: If your buying the psp core system look for one bundled with games and movies for even more savings
